Oh but let me add: now oxygen only airs crime/ mystey shows. They air law & order SVU, Law & Order: Crimial intent, CSI, & Chicago PD reruns when they’re not. Oxygen began to go overboard and people stopped caring. They had to rebuild their brand. All Viacom did was just put all of their boring programs on BET and put all the ratchet shyt on VH1

Just turn on that motherfukker. If "Black Ink Club", "Love & Hip-Hop" & "Basketball Wives" and all those ratchet ass spinoff shows were on BET, motherfukkers would be about to riot, but they just put those shows a few channels down and damn near nobody says shyt.

So, now they can look clean for having BET have shyt like Gabby Union's "Mary Jane" show and other shyt about upwardly mobile Black folks and now all the ratchet shyt is still on the air but just on another one of their networks.

I forgot about this thread. I forgot I even sapped this post. 8 months later and this is as true as ever. I remember when Vh1 used to be a channel that played old rock music from the 60's, 70' and 80's. It used to be a channel targeted towards white men age 40-60. Now it's targeted towards Black women ages 18-35. The ol switcharoo.

To add on, we all know Viacom runs all three networks and their subsidiaries. Back in the 90s and early 2000s, the first and only Hip Hop they played was Eminem, maybe Tupac and Biggie on the top 100 rappers countdown.

MTV had the videos, reality TV shows, news commentary, and unplugged sets.

BET had the worst film quality out of the three and least amount of variety programming....

2017, Ratchet/Sambo behavior on VH1 that is embarrassing to watch for more than a few moments. Half-naked hoochies and washed up rappers making bullshyt music that doesn't even chart Napster's top 100..

Can we really expect leniency from Summer Redstone (owner) who is reaching 100 and has been undermining Black media for nearly 40 years?
