Dave always seemed like a lame nikka to me even in half baked. He was funny as shyt but I always thought he was a comic for white people could enjoy more so than a martin lawrence.

Sorry breh. The demand for stereotypical black comedy is relatively low in this day and time. Nobody wants to hear "real nikka" jokes.

But a lot of (young) black people don't wanna see Def Comedy Jam - style comedy either.

I don't think many know Dave's actual history.

He has been heavily connected to the white stand-up circuit since he was a teenager. He was
part of the club scene when Ray Romano, Kevin James, Louis CK, Colin Quinn and Jon Stewart were all developing their acts. Chris Rock was a little ahead of these guys but he was down with them, too.

Neal Brennan was Dave's main creative partner from Half Baked right through to the Chappelle Show.

i mean dave is a straight up dc nikka at heart.. he turned down the role of bubba in forrest gump cause it was a bad look for black people... he was given his own show in the early nineties and turned it down because the network wanted to get rid of the blacks and hire whites instead... then he turned down 50 million when CC wanted him to sell out
