I just noticed the donate button is gone.

Yeah, we hired someone to run some tests & what not in preparation for the NFL season and that add-on was causing a lot of errors and it was outdated and unsupported by the dev so we had to 86 it. We'll get another donate add-on up in due time.

It's not working

It should be good now. It was fixed day before yesterday. There was an update in the back end so the search index had to be rebuilt.
