At the height of jimcrow you had folks like Madam CJ walker and BookerT making crazy bank. So whatever happens in the next few years should be a cakewalk for those of us still here given our conditions are dramatically better than our forbearers

We used to have trade barriers for decades is what protected our standard of living.
But globalization equals USA having to "share".
Whereas one job could raise a family in like 1950, now it takes at least two incomes. And coming up it will take two couples to afford a house. Maybe two sibs and their spouses. shyt like that.
OP is right. Getting over the hump - to where one job can afford a household - gonna become nigh impossible. Probably soon.
Thank G-d I have my family home. There's three of us here now (Moms and Unc) but one person could afford it. No mortgage. It's nice cause we all have our own floor of a 3 story.
