Now my only real concern after being reasonable is that this was my only professional job. I been working there since I was 18 but I will bounce back, the difference between me and alot of yall new nikkas is I still know how to use my hands to make money. Moms already told a nikka she got me on the mortgage for as long as it takes me to find a job and not to disturb my savings as much as possible. She told me she was kind of happy because that job been stressing me out all this year and she was telling me to quit a few months back. My rental properties will take care of the car note, insurance, and utilities.

Breh, let me tell you something...as a black man who has worked his way up from IT helpdesk to IT manager / project management...DO NOT EVER TRUST ANOTHER BLACK MAN AT WORK...ESPECIALLY AN OLDER BLACK MAN...or what I call O.B.B.M (Old Bitter Black Man).

There are a lot of reason for this:

1. O.B.B.M has been working there for a minute...O.B.B.M was probably one of the first...if not the first black...working in that office period...O.B.B.M has probably been called a ****** to his face or at the very least in passing (I've had several O.B.B.M's try to drive a wedge between myself and a white co-work by saying stuff like "if you'd met him in 1996 you wouldn't have liked him. If you heard him say some of the stuff I did back in 92 you wouldn't be talking to him" Then you come in as the new cool black guy...and at least at all the places i work...all the white people pretend to like the cool new young black guy...it is almost like the pc thing to do...like I've seen white people cop an attitude with each other like "you haven't gone to talk to the cool new black guy yet"...at my current job...when i first stated...crazy how many white people just come up out of nowhere with the face when they see me...saying stuff like "you ever have any problems with anyone here you come and talk to me " So O.B.B.M has to watch all the white people in the office give you attention... which brings us to number 2.

2. O.B.B.M is gonna be jealous of you now...because you are now a voice in the black community...O.B.B.M used to be the voice of black reason to all the white people...O.B.B.M used to get to chime in on anything that was happening in the black community...or if white people took an interest in anything that was labeled as "black" O.B.B.M was the go to guy...now it's you...now they come to you asking about LIL Wayne...now they come to you asking about Rick Ross "Hold me back" ( white dude was talking to me and did the ross head shake and "woop" noise last week)...Now white people want to know what is going on on your cell phone...what is going on on your Ipod...

Avoid O.B.B.M at all cost...straight up I have seen this play out at plenty of jobs...hell at my first two I almost fell victim to it myself....

O.B.B.M: Man David gets on my nerves...he never pulls his weight...I mean...I know he has kids...but that doesn't give him the right to make excuses? You know what I'm saying...keep that between us though...it's good to finally have someone to talk to

He was saying it wasn't fair to him and...I was trying to tell him you had kids and stuff...but oh well don't worry I don't think he meant anything by it...you know he is new here so...don't worry I will talk to young black man about it

I got fired once and got unemployment?


Only difference is I got fired because I kept wanting to negotiate a higher raise and my director kept ignoring my emails and texts. So finally I went over his head and emailed like 3 higher-ups in the company about the problem.


I got an email from him about wanting to meet after work on Friday about HRs response to my raise.

He basically lied and told me that HR wanted to let me go because I spoke to the neurologist about my raise, when in fact I did not do so, and had only told him I would talk to the neurologist if need be. But when I appealed the decision, HR told me that my manager didn't do anything illegal and thus I wouldn't be reinstated.

So basically I got fired for going above his head.

I received unemployment, and it took me about 3 months to find a job.

Loved the little vacay.

With that said, I doubt OP gets unemployment from this. He got fired for racist remarks. That will not look good on his resume AT ALL. OP, you'll learn from this. It was a mistake, nothing more, nothing less.

A EEOC charge is the worst thing you can do to a company. It's federal. When you feel you are being discriminated at work this is what you do to save your azz. I filed it when a CAC supervisor was on my azz about performance when she wasn't even my direct supervisor. The sh1t got real when I filed. You feel the tension in the room.. like n1ggas know to fuk with u at all. The 50k is to resign and move forward yes... It was worth it to me.. the b1tch got transferred to another state.

I did a timeline with my lawyer. They argued that she was just doing her job but when I stated that I wasn't the only minority shes been harassing they shut up and investigated her.

So the day I got let go, I did a shyt load of applications. I was on some humble shyt and on my, "I gotta do what I gotta do" steeze. So I fill out an app to be a security guard and those sumbytches called me back today . The hourly pay came up and it was 12.50/hr ()... How in the fukk would I look wearing their goofy ass uniform only making 12 bucks an hour? It's not even worht my time and gas going there everyday looking like some weird ass bum ass nikka.

I thought I was on some humble shyt but man fukk that. I politely told her, "I am a man of values and honor and as a man, I couldn't bring myself down to that level and thanked her for her time." me !
