The Art Barr Story
It sucks, but you have to. Being dark skinned you just are predisposed to looking like a threat, even when you're dressed in a suit, just walking down the hall, minding you're own business. Always make sure to at least make eye contact and give a brief smile and nod whenever you pass someone. Trust me, it sounds shytty but it's as simple as raising your eyebrows and just softening up your expression just slightly. It actually gives you a positive vibe that repels workplace drama. You're above the drama. You watch it unfold... using your perspective to your advantage or simply for your amusement. Being able to do this to people that you absolutely detest is key in being able to keep your sh!t together when sh!t gets intense. That way you can live on to work toward greater ambitions. This makes you better than most. People will notice this, and some will hate. But really, those people hate themselves and their negative disposition will ultimately being their own undoing. Their hate is pitted against a force that always wins in the end... that force is excellence.
Keeping your cool and being able to hold your sh!t together is KEY in getting what you want. How do I know this? Well, I learned by studying the master:

Obama is a dude that stays accomplishing goals. You can bet he has intense one-on-one sessions where he doesn't really have to say much at all. He can have you shook with a stern facial expression and a few terse words. Being able to exercise power like that is way more satisfying and productive when compared to giving in to the quick fix emotional outburst.
