I wanna put mass on again. I'm naturally ectomorph and have put weight on before while eating everything in sight. Since then I cut out dairy cause of sinus issues I found that dairy was causing and red meat cause I used to get these weird heart palpitations sometimes that stopped when I cut pork, beef etc out. I'm trying to bulk but am is it an unrealistic feat ?

Of course you can. All that meat/dairy=pRoTeIn is nonsense.

Just eat more caloric dense foods but stick to whole foods and not processed junk foods. So lots of things like Quinoa, Brown Rice, Tofu, Tempeh, Seitan, beans, etc. Not to mention things like Maca, Shilajit/Moomiyo, Rhodiola, Sarsaparilla Root are great herbs for muscle building too.

Yeah, it's possible, but your diet and meal planning has to be extremely focused.

I was vegetarian/pescatarian for over 15 years and ate very little dairy, but got back in the gym a little over 3 years ago to bulk up and added poultry back into my diet. I went to a private gym with personal trainers and both of my trainers, one of whom I still lift and train with, were vegetarian, and both had noticeable gains and strength that you wouldn't normally associate with that particular type of diet. So it can be done, you just have to be very dedicated.

If pork and beef are the only issues does that mean you can eat chicken and fish?

Yea I at chicken and fish
Then you should fine.

My view is that a lot (not all) of self-identifed ectomorphs fail at bulking because:

  • They don't truly eat to the level calorically
  • Their general training isn't conducive to growth progressively
  • They try to "clean bulk" which in that case is a big mountain to climb

An occassional pizza. Some junk food with with dairy in them like cookies or cake occassionally. But I haven't drank cow's milk in over 30 years.

But like I said, I changed my diet 3 years ago to a more calorie dense with additional protein one. I still eat a ton of raw fruits and veggies with it, but it's not centered around that like I used to do. And I cut alot of the junk food out.
