Really be honest, lyrically...Drake is underrated. NEVER THE FLOW THO, THEY KNOW I RUN THAT

I don't expect you all to agree...but...the guy is talented with the SKILL of putting words together, flipping phrases, punchlines, and general wit.

Its easy to pass his music off, especially the lead singles, but on his features and album cuts, its hard to really deny the man his credit.

Its a nuanced argument you have to appreciate. He understands diction to a degree FEW other rappers truly do.

Going back to Room for Improvement, theres so many slick lines and hidden wordplay that often gets overlooked by people who claim to really appreciate the craft of rapping.

If you're struggling to find my point, just listen to Drake's verses or better yet, read the lyrics as you listen to the songs.

The guy is pretty elite when it comes to the structure and presentation of his lines.

No. If you honestly believe he does then Hip Hop truly is a popularity contest. Literally from the top of my head I can think of 10 rappers that would murk him on the mic and let me list them:

1. Joe Buttons.
2. Nas.
3. Jay-Z when he isn't being a dikk riding fakket.
4. Joell Ortiz.
5. Cacinem.
6. Lupe Fiasco.
7. C-Styles.
8. Q-Tip.
9. 3 Stacks.
10. Phonte.

All GREAT lyricists. Some are bum ass rappers but where the fukk do you draw the line at some of the shameful stannery that goes on in here? Drake isn't criminally underrated, he's probably criminally overrated.
