Its really funny to watch people go through hooops to try and make it seem like dude ain't nice. Its pretty sad.

They're willing to hold these struggle rappers up on a pedestal but since drake tries to hold a note or two and is a little goofy off stage, then its like dude AINT the nikka to be on the mic.

I ain't saying he's the GOAT or anything...but he is DEFINITELY someone people could look to emulate, if not mechanically.
dude str8 spitn on this lyrically and flow wise. i honestly dont think that everyone is born with the ability to recognize great lyricism and flow. so i dont blame some ppl who look up to the waka's and Trinidad James for lyrics

no I don't think, I can't see him underrated, more like overrated.

great lyricists of this generation: Lupe FIasco, Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul, Skyzoo,.. and to me, drake is nowhere near these cats, I don't even know if he can fukk with J. Cole tbh

I really don't like kendrick, but kendrick is a superior lyricist and it's not even close.

Drake has improved as a lyricist in recent years, but he's always been more about directness, rather than the lexical curlicues that tend to mark a rapper as a "real lyricist.
Kendrick is superior in every imaginable way and it's coming from a Drake stan
This is my exact sentiment.

you're a drake stan. shut the fukk up
If you really wanna be honest, posting wise, you're garbage.

Noooo you two have got this shyt twisted.

The OP wasnt talking about you both. Drizzy already said that he doesnt expect no p*ssy getting virgins to like his music. That means you two get a pass for thinking he's wack

Calm down people

Drake is probably one of the most lyrically rappers I ever heard in my life... I'm 23 but I had 4 uncles that were at least 10 years older so I was raised believing Rakim was the greatest, was aware and awaken right dead smack in the middle of the Biggie era, and my uncles favorite rappers were Wu Tang, Mobb Deep,Nas, and Jadakiss....................But ya can keep that text book bullshyt. TO ME, Drake shyts on all them because he is JUST as lyrical and is spitting about life relevance in TODAYS world...fukk whoever doesn't disagree, bet ya won't throw hands with me if ya saw me :demonic:

all ya nikkas worried about how he's half white and how he looks and dressed are CLEARLY insecure with themselves. I don't understand why in today's world nikkas cant just give a nikka a head nod and keep it moving, nikkas have to be PERFECT in every one else's opinion smh.

You were bone in 1990 right? You were 4 when Ready To Die dropped. You are not a part of the Big/Pac generation, but I'm glad that your uncles put you up on shyt when you got older.

naw buzzin i was born in 89 lol. Yes 4 when Ready 2 Die but I remember my fukking Momz bumping Life After Death in entirety in the whip, Mase-Harlem World playing in everyone's car. Trust me I'm FARRRR from a typical late 80's baby, I know my hip hop. I just have an open mind, I'm the same nikka that can big up Poor Righteous Teachers(and I'm 23 mind you) yet will shoot a nikka for Chief Keefs Bang Pt.2...... I just don't understand why people can't just appreciate variety, and stay in the same lane stuck in the same level/type of thinking/type of music.

I'm glad you've gone back and listened to some old shyt. But your era was Nelly, The Roc/Dipset, G-Unit and Crunk. People appreciate quality. The fact that your bigging up Keef, shows you don't have a discerning ear. It shatters your credibility and renders your statements about Drake being an all time great irrelevant.

Drake isn't great at any one aspect. He is a good not great lyricist. His flow is good but Atl cats got that on lock. He can sing just good enough not to hurt the eardrums. A serviceable triple threat in an era where talent is lacking.
