My grandmother lived in the South Bronx and never left the block. Everything she needed was there. The grocery store was a block away so that would be her weekly adventure. If you live in a real city you don't ever have to leave a five mile radius or even less if you wanna go full hermit mode.

I lived in Brooklyn for 6 years and was within biking distance to the Rockaways (fukking love that place), Plumb Beach, Manhattan Beach and Coney Island. That's what I miss most about living there. Then I discovered Floyd Bennett Field on my bikes to the Rockaways, that place is super fun to bike in. I would see giant piles of what i thought was snow on the sidewalk outside of one of the old hangars that was converted to commercial and sporting space. Later I found out that there is an ice skating rink in the re and that's where the zamboni dumps the ice shavings. shyt had me baffled for at least two years.

u lived in BK for 6 years...I thought u was a BX breh :dahell:

yea this changes everything.

If you’re from Queens, Harlem might as well be another planet. Even within boroughs people tend to only move through adjacent neighborhoods. Someone from Brownsville/Flatbush/Crown Heights rarely goes to DUMBO, etc. NY is technically big but for this reason, it’s socially very small

nah not even. I never went 2 BK/QUEENS until I was legally an adult. n I hated it out there. that shyt might as well have been Saturn.

The only good thing about working in the office was that everyone was already in Manhattan, so it was easier to meet up and do something.

I got an off topic question: Do yall move around the boroughs like that? I went to visit some years back and met up with a friend in Harlem but he said he doesn't get outta Queens much aside from work (in Manhattan)

I said HOW it's NEW YORK :mindblown:
New York is huge. Alot of people don’t leave they areas if they don’t have to

Same for me growing up in the BX. Had fam in Queens we would visit sometimes but never really left the BX unless we went to Yonkers or Bear Mnt. Went to Manhattan a few times and remember standing in between the Towers and looking up.

Nope!

Unless it’s for pùssy or a party you really want to go to — and Manhattan is the central point for work — why go from borough to borough just to go. It’s like traveling to another large city just for the hell of it.

We’re not talking going from like Santa Monica to fuçkin Oxnard or something. BX to Jamaica Queens takes a minute to get to. You need a helicopter
Idk but it seems like the 'New York' thing to do :upsetfavre: I see what people are talking about bow when they say 'Old New York'
