This album is a chore, not gonna lie. Dude has no personality, and sounds completely joyless when trying to turn up on the bangers and radio attempts. The conscious stuff feels generic. Beats are cool but man...

Very well produced, well put together album. Dude is just blah as stated. Couldn’t really finish a whole song on it. Don’t even really know how he could improve on that part at this point.

I liked his debut, but never really went back to it. I'm kinda over the whole TDE thing but I'll give this a listen at some point

Worse than that IMO. Cole is a good rapper and can write a hook. There's not much interesting shyt about his life compared to other greats but he has told interesting stories, concepts etc. Reason is the most generic rapper I've heard in ages. The hooks aren't good, the raps are solid I guess but...eh at the same time? I just don't care. He just sounds like someone checking boxes, like I said earlier. I need a storytelling track because that's what rappers do. I need a club track because that's what rappers do.

Listen to his interviews...there's nothing there. Just seems joyless. I have no idea why he was signed or what the vision was. But then again, you can say the same thing about the other dude TDE signed recently. Ray Vaughn. Even their names are generic/derivative as fukk.

I like when he makes 1st/3rd person perspective songs and he does them well.

The rest of it is just generic rap music

TDE also got that thot rap chick Doe Chi who might have a chance but they need her to drop now before the woman rap fad is done with. She only has a small window before we are sick of most of these female rappers lol.

People gotta stop this kendrick verbose shyt. People don't have the patients or energy for this.

This is poetry/rant/coming of rage rap. This should have stayed on Soundcloud. This isn't mainstream content. This is backpacker mixtape music. I get it. It's not TERRIBLE but it's not going to translate. I dont know why folks have a problem accepting this.

JID is a rappity rap type but he at least can make a song

Bas is going the melodic and anthem route...those other guys need to find day jobs.

SIR is dope tho.
