If you sonned a guy and had him crying on the radio, and then he paid you millions of dollars directly after that....yes. Definitely. I don't see how that's not a win. People act like Jay was his "boss", like he had him scrubbing toilets or some shyt. By Jay's own admission he had nothing to do with Nas's direction or career on Def Jam. He cut checks and Nas made music the same way he'd always been making music.
