Reasons for not voting??

So now that we're coming upon elections, people been asking me left and right who I'm voting for. I tell them I ain't voting and keep getting that same disgusted look. I'm in my 20s and black so Obama's presidency was the only one I've dealt with so far and nobody wee really asked me because I guess they assumed he had my vote already.

I didn't vote for his bytch ass either.

But now people wanna know why I'm not voting and why I'm not utilizing the rights my ancestors died for and my only response is "your vote doesn't count" and "both them muhfukkas is crazy", and even though I fell the brevity of those statements should be enough, people just wanna dig deeper into that convo and I can't pull out too many stats or facts from the top of my dome.

Anybody have anymore logically sound reasons for not voting? I know there's something about the electoral college picking the president, but I'm not sure exactly how that process goes. What does the popular vote do towards choosing who becomes president?

I think it legitimizes the use of force by the state and provides legitimacy to a corrupt political system.

Presidential candidates aren't the only ones running for office. Not that it matters much. Believe it or not every president we've had in the last 30 years all perform like a moderate. The only thing that's gotten more partisan is Congress but this is by design. The only times a president has pulled some radical shyt is when there was a war or national emergency, cue the tinfoilists.

Congress as a whole approval ratings are in record lows but I guarantee everyone on this board looked up their congressmen individual ratings, few would drop below 50. The presidential vote doesnt have as much impact nowadays for several other reasons but that's not important right now.

You should vote because local elections impact you directly. There's a difference between voting in a Police Chief who hates Mexicans and a President who hates them; one has the world watching, the only has him boys patrolling your neighborhood, deciding what your children read in school, what school/tax/election district you belong too so they can win the election again in a few years.
