Don't fall for that shyt lol, you'll always find some contrarians on some illuminati bullshyt trying to shyt on the best artists.

Y'all get mad when nobody bringing the real back in the game and then when somebody come along y'all get mad cause he getting praise he deserve

nikka don't even know what overhyped mean.... Mean you not worthy of the praise you receive based on your work

But homie gave us heat on all his project. He dropped 2 of the best projects of the last 5 years. I don't even care for the hype or the promotion, I haven't heard a better album since then.

Yes, there's nothing going on behind the scenes...

:damn: Let me alone, I'm not fallin' for it! The Moon Landing was staged! Tupac is alive! Michael Jackson was an soulful alien!

:lolbron:

easy-e, i see ur point of view. but maybe try give gkmc another listen sometime down the road. i know a dude who felt the exact same, came back to it at a later time without the hype influence in mind and feels more positive about what kendrick was trying to do and it making its mark on ppl

fukk the hype, thats not important in how you listen to the record. its about what you personally take from the music. if it dont click tho, it dont click. dont matter as long as ur honest with it. :yeshrug:

I agree. 90% of Kendrick's current fanbase didn't know who he was before GKMC. Including Cali nikkas. The Bay supports its own movement. But I know for a fact L.A. nikkas weren't fukking K. Dot like that when he had a baby underground mixtape buzz. GKMC is also criminally overrated. This new booty generation isn't used to a solid album they can listen to all the way through. :russ: 90% of Kendrick's fanbase aren't even from Cali and definitely weren't even checking for new West Coast rappers before 2011. :usure:And you are right about the industry co-signs. That Dr. Dre cosign historically seals the deal with the cac fanbase and has since N.W.A., Snoop and Eminem. K. Dot's cac fanbase is too stupid large to not sell. Cacs actually buy albums and go to concerts. Not to mention old head nikkas who want to say they respect at least one new age lyrical rapper. If you want a massive suburban cac fanbase, get yourself a Dr. Dre co-sign. Also, Compton is seen as some mythical ghetto of all ghettos in the minds of white people and nikkas not from Cali even though it ain't 1991 anymore. :skip: If you ask me, Kendrick has already reached a sort of Naus status with an army of stans. Saying you think Kendrick is dope has become a bullshyt prerequisite to being taken seriously as a "hip hop head". :snoop: The only difference was back in the 90's if your album wasn't really a classic, the fans would let you know. Believe it or not, Nas was clowned for It Was Written and Nastradamus back in the 90's. Nowadays, with so much dumbed down industry garbage, solid albums are considered "classic". :mjpls:
Who cares my nikka?

I got on to Kendrick because my favorite rapper Lupe started promoting his shyt on Twitter. I'm like who the fukk is Kendrick Lamar. I listened to BDKMV and it was dope. So I listened to some tracks and ended up buying it.

Bottomline good music is good music. After I bought GKMC I listened to his other projects. They were all dope to me :yeshrug:

He hasn't released a wack PROJECT yet.

Between him and Lupe dropping music I'm gonna be eating come next year :blessed:

Music isnmusic. fukk the politics. You either make dope music or you don't.

kendrick is like bob dylan in that he has a horrible voice, but his lyrics, delivery, performance, concepts, songwriting skills make up for it.

:why:Another one

I've been listening to Kenny since Section.80

And though I haven't heard the album in official sequence more than once or twice, I've heard most the songs a bunch of items over.

And hopefully ya'll don't think these publications write their reviews after listening 5 times, twice in the whip. They are influenced by the industry themselves.

All say it again; I like the record. I'm not takin' away from it's quality, I'm just not blown away. It's just the "best" from default. This generation is weak, quality-wise.

It's not better than The Cool, IMO.

it is imo. but then again I always thought lupe was just overrated by "real hip hop fans who were looking for a savior". the musical composition of his albums is laughable and the cool has too many unnecessary songs. Just my opinion. (F&L is great though)

See and I'm cool with that. Nuthin' to add or substract from your position.

Interscope didn't promote kendrick until he went gold on his own. 50 cent even talked about it when he left Interscope, saying Jimmy was a bytch for this and this is true... I remember best buy & target saying the album was undershipped first week... and kendrick still managed to do 240K first week. I and all my friends had to buy it on itunes :snoop:

50 was in his feelings. Let's not act like Swimming Pools wasn't HEAVY radio rotation and you weren't seeing Kendrick everywhere before the album dropped. Dude was touring before the record even dropped. Where he get the tour support from?

Act like 50 was in the LOOP at Interscopes inner workings the past few years brehs......

Kendrick got a pu$H.
