ok…then I think 18 was recommended but I settled for 12…I liked the hibiki more tho

Part of the appeal is that it's cask strength (It's 108 proof). The cask strength version of Lagavulin costs a lot more.
I DO prefer the cask strength version of Laphroaig over Uigeadail though.

That's what I figured. Maybe I gotta get used to it. I have a bottle of CS Laphroaig on my shelf as well as a few other cask strengths that I haven't opened.

loved uigeadail, tastes like smokehouse almonds. that was one of my go tos when I wasn't on a budget, that or nikka taketsuru

I thought Laphroaig tasted like the smell of burnt matches, not pleasant

Have you ever tried Yamazaki whiskey?

Opened a bottle of Yamazaki 12 recently. It's pretty damn good. I think it's kinda similar to Lagavulin 16 (the GOAT) though not as good.

It's not worth the ridiculous mark-up prices though.

yes and no, it’s smooth, and it will get you a nice lil buzz, but you think about damn did i really blow 3 notes on a bottle of liquor
