You also got a better TV :leostare:

Chromecast is limited as hell well compared to Samsung smart tvs
And you have to use your phone which can get annoying
I haven't checked out the new features for the Sammy's or any new TVs lately, but how exactly is the Chromecast limited to them now?

I don't think it's annoying be able to control everything from your phone either. These phones have IR blasters now so you can literally sit down turn on your the TV with your phone and stream content to it directly from your phone without even getting the TVs remote...

Roku can do that right? I have apple tv but not the version that can be jailbroken.

Which roku do I need? I went on amazon and see like 4 or 5 different versions.
I don't know if Roku works with XBMC. I know that it works with Plex which allows you to stream from your PC via the Plex Media Server. I have a Roku 2 XD which is an older model and it works on there for me. So pretty much any one will work for you, the different versions are for what features you want. Some don't have an ethernet port, and some don't output in 1080p

TYRONE GA!
Smart TVs aren't that great unless they can play every video format out of the box. They are limited as to what apps you can use as well. You want to invest in a box. You want a hardware device that will allow you to use Kodi (used to be called XBMC). Install those fancy addons and you're good to go. Chromecast and all others don't have sh*t on Kodi (XBMC). Smart tv is a big marketing scheme. it's a trap.

Mine can. Got a nice Sammy last year for my bday.

The only reason I'm considering another option is potentially cord cutting. I'm interested to see how this playstation tv thing works out. If they can get Disney to sign on so we can have ESPN, ABC, etc, I'm .....

that or a Sony. Sony's have the best for the least gaming input lag.

Yeah I'm on an Sony 850B right now bUT when I get this man room going I'll either take this tv and get another living room tv or just get me a nice Sammy for the man's den.

Wouldn't mind a Sammy curved.

i thought i'd check back in on this thread to let everyone know what went down.

so we bought a 32" samsung smartTV. it is pretty fukking sick. :obama: i also got one of those cheetah wall mounts instead of a free-standing one that swings away from the wall. i was :lupe: when it came time to mount it but it turned out very nice and level and she was :noah: when i was finished. not bad. i went to home depot and found a HD antenna for $20 that was basically a flat black sheet that is hidden away on one of the shelves below the TV. got about 25 channels for free :yeshrug: so she can see the news :beli: and scandal :camby: and we have an HBOGo login, my amazon prime login, my sister's hulu+login, and now i am missing only one more piece of the puzzle. i am debating a chromecast when i get paid at the end of the month. and when it comes if someone here could give me a tip (nh) on how to complete my TV watching experience i would be most grateful.

my question is this... :mjpls:
NBA League Pass :ninja1:

once again i'd like to thank everyone for all their help. i actually really do like this TV and as soon as i get an HDMI card for my PC i'll hook that up too and be :takedat:
