the Sox can spend whatver they want, and the market is inflated beyond belief, but it still blows my mind that this guy is making $20 mil a season. I feel like 5/$100 is just the standard deal to give a guy age 27-32 who has been a "good" major leaguer now. Surprised he got more than Hanley. He's younger and more durable i guess, but it's still crazy.

The Sox are such a weird organization. Can't knock it, the results are there, but they just pile guys on top of guys. They sign more players I don't personally like and usually get production from them. If they don't? fukk em, ship em out. Not to mention the boatload of young prospects they buy, draft well.

I want Cespedes on the cheap even if I got Cuddyer/Granderson. Time to start the Cuddyer merry-go-round and let him play a few spots 3 times a week. Cespedes can hit bombs anywhere, and if the Mets flop, Sandy could probably get the prospect back at the deadline for him

Considering how big of a Market Boston is and the deals are not 10 year deals, I think both deals are not gonna cripple us. Sandoval will be 33 when his deal is over and Hanley will be 35 when his deal expires. They both basically making under 20 Million a year, Making less Money than Matt Kemp, Texeira, A-Rod, Pujols, Josh Hamilton etc...

Giants offered him 95 million.. that extra 5 million pushed it over the edge I guess ? Giants shoulda cashed out :damn:

:pacspit: fukk boston :pacspit:

I think he see's himself a DH in the future and with Ortiz retiring soon, it's a perfect situation.

From a Giants POV, I'd have been OK with us giving him that deal. Sad, but what a way to bow out, though. I'll miss him :wow:

Sandoval has never been in the class of the players you mentioned when they got their deal. it's crazy, if you can put a .750 ops these days you're probably making $100mil. Like i said though, Sox don't let shyt like this cripple them. if they don't work, they'll ship em out, pay a chunk and talk shyt about them with the quickness

City of Angels :blessed:
This shyt never works in baseball.

few years ago Boston had a big ass payroll, then traded all those guys to the Dodgers and won the World Series the next year with lower salary guys.. now they going back and doing the same shyt all overa gain by spending all this money

I dont like the Sandoval signing but recent history has shown im gonna be wrong about it...

Its kinda crazy hes getting 20 mil over 5 years if you look at the numbers, cuz other than his 2nd year (5 years ago) hes done NOTHING that catches ur eye...He has steadily declined the last few years :yeshrug:

If Sandoval flops itll be harder to unload him than Carl Crawford...

Sandoval probably never been on their class BUT Pablo Sandoval's career postseason batting average of .344 is the best in baseball history among players with at least 150 plate appearances. And he has a .426 batting average in 50 career World Series plate appearances, won 3 Rings and was The WS MVP, Add MR October to that and they can do some damage when it counts.

BTW the Mariners just gave their 3B Kyle Seager $100 Million as well. I take Kung Fu Panda.
