A Boston team cheating?:ohhh:

I look forward to the media spinning this on some "Everybody does it:hubie:" "If you're not cheating you're not trying:hubie:" steez. Most coddled "major" city in sports. NY, LA, Chi, Phi, Dallas etc, no team in those markets would get away with the amount of fukk shyt that goes on in Boston:beli:

ESPN Classic - Hitters knew pitches in stretch drive

Several players said the Giants stole signs during home games in the last 10 weeks of the 1951 season. New York trailed the Dodgers by 13½ games on Aug. 11 before making up the deficit in only 53 days.

The Journal said infielder Henry Schenz and coach Herman Franks relayed signals from the Giants' center-field clubhouse -- the wall was 483 feet from home plate -- to the bullpen with a buzzer system created by electrician Abraham Chadwick. Yvars said he then relayed signals to hitters.

I can't find the article of Dodgers and other NL players saying the would see a flicker of light coming from center field during those 10 weeks

I still don't understand how you DON'T steal signs in baseball. I mean the catcher's signals are aired for everyone to see. Maybe I don't understand baseball enough

There's usually a different system for signs with runners on.

1 might be a curve now, 2 will be the fastball
3rd sign is the actual sign
Behind in the count, it's always the 1st sign
Etc.

Stealing basic signs is easy, relaying them to teammates without getting caught takes a little more work. And if the catcher sees a runner on second doing subtle things to try to tip pitch location or type, calling for a fastball to the ribs is the usual unwritten rule.

But with technology, you could easily get around all that. That's why these cases need to be handled very strictly.
