Not saying our corporate owned media is better but Russia State Media is another level.

Because the alt/Indy media was providing different angles on stories and topics......that absolutely did happen.....yet instead of trying to capture people's minds via the free market of ideas....there has been a concerted effort to censor differing opinions.....literally....not figuratively.

You're suppose to be objective, even with pundits and sites that you mostly trust or like......you suppose to be able to call out inconsistencies and faults and curious stances.

If the Joe Rogan thing is true, then he does have a boss.....although I don't know anything verifying Putin doing that outside of the same media that lies to us. So who knows .

Not going to help you derail your own thread by getting into that here breh.

However, state sponsored TV, just like the US based stations in other countries, is used to push the political interest of the state. I can be skeptical and understand the distrust of our media but at the same time think willingly consuming a literal propaganda station of a state government to be a bit weird.

At the end of the day, you're just swallowing another brand of brainwashing and propaganda all the same.

VoA and Radio Free Europe look and sound awful since the 90s (at least in Searbian, but I think the studios and the technology is the same for all the languages)... It's like they make the same type of TV and radio program that they have been doing 20 or 30 years ago, completely frozen in time...

US seems to have stopped investing in the soft power propaganda around the world.
I guess that the idea is that the hard power (military + WB&IMF influence) are deemed to be sufficient, and the budget cuts can't provide for the soft power propaganda...

An American has no right to be outraged that the other countries are now doing this type of propaganda in the US, when it is the US that invented it, and has been previously practicing the same for decades.
