About half the time, imo. The story of MGS2 and MGS4 are so horribly contrived that I wonder why they even bothered. Anyone who tells you that they understand EVERYTHING that's happened in the MGS universe is a liar.

But the other half of the time? Piffffffff.

People were saying the kid he was choking out was Chico from peace walker. I have to finish peace walker now. I am just not sure though.

:ANYWORD: I don't even know who chico is... I only played 1, 2, 3, and 4. of the MGS series. My memory of the story is garbled.

He didn't die in MGS3. He did kill The Boss, which is probably what you're thinking about, that's how he earned the codename Big Boss.

Big Boss never actually died. He was ostensibly killed by Solid at the end of MG2, but was kept alive by The Patriots in a coma until the end of MGS4(EVA had previously retrieved his body with Raiden's help and rebuilt him using parts from Liquid/Solidus however he was still in a coma until The Patriots system was taken down).

Timeline is: MGS3, Portable Ops, Peace Walker, MGSV, Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2, MGS1, MGS2, MGS4, and finally Rising if you want to count that.

that shyt is craaaazy but if you got the patience it all makes perfect sense, although it does have it's lags....



Still got my money on Eli being Liquid. It just.... fits. If you look at Liquid's history, you'll see what I mean.

Could Eli be gray fox or was gray fox older in the 80s?

Gray Fox was an adult or near enough in Portable Ops. That game is officially canon but it's kinda like the weird uncle of the family, everyone knows him they just don't want to acknowledge him. I could see Kojima retconning a lot of it without too much bother but not de-aging a character that much.
