Some of you are really simple. To say reddit as a whole is racist is missing the whole point of it. Let me know when you stop going to youtube/facebook/wshh etc.. hell, by that logic we should probably quit using the internet because sites like st0rmfr0nt and chimpout are allowed to exist on it.
It's all user created communities. It's basically a huge collection of forums hosted for free. You can create a subreddit about whatever hobby/interest you like with no overhead and you'll find like minds...

There's a fukkton of information that can be had on reddit about damn near ANY subject you can think about and it's all aggregated for you. The good subreddits are heavily moderated with rules.. posting slurs, sexist shyt, racist shyt etc. will quickly get you banned. Now, are there are racist subreddits? Yeah, but I don't really give a fukk about them.. trying to hide from racism on the internet is futile. Anyone that devotes that much time to hate is not worth getting worked up about. The only thing that makes me a bit uneasy is the fact that a reddit user could be dropping hella knowledge on a certain subreddit, about a topic you're interested in, and 5 mins later they'd be posting in one of those racists subreddits... but I don't really give a fukk about who drops the knowledge just as long as it's good knowledge.
Now, if you wanna turn down a wealth of information because of a few racist people who happen to share the same site, then that's on you. I'm sure as hell not gonna.
