Wtf are you talking about? Reddit isn't shutting down. The users of the app are protesting by not posting.

Reddit is as helpful as you make it. Tons of communities around hobbies and topics with actual experts who are helpful. I found carpenters on there, learned how to make face serums and where to order raw ingredients, as someone who needs dairy free ice cream I got a perfected recipe from Reddit.
