When artists rank their own albums of course we as fans will disagree with the rankings, but the opinion of the artist is the only right one. I always find it interesting because artists tend to rank their albums based on whatever place in life they were when they recorded it. We tend to rank them based on how they sound and our opinion is swayed by wherever we were in life when we heard the album.

Yup

Great post

You know what's interesting to me

nobody ever talks about Doc's Da Name

and i get it, to "hip hop" heads and non casuals, it's viewed as his commercial album, but at the same time, as much as cats pay attention to numbers and celebrate platinum status, hardly any love is shown to Doc's Da Name
Loved ill be dat and da goodness

My fav red album is what thee album for sure.

Dare iz i like the production but not his rapping as much. Cant wait. Basically. We run ny. Couple others are great.

But out of all the dark albums of that era, i like it the least

I prolly got docs da name as solidly number 2. Then muddy waters. Dare iz. Still better than those last 2 albums.

He hates Dare Iz A Darkside for whatever reason. He doesn't even remember recording it cause he said he was on drugs and in a dark place.
I can understand, but that's my favorite granted I was heavy weeded out back then and now I don't fukk with it.

I remember a radio interview he did in 1998 where he ranked his albums as follows:

1. Muddy Waters
2. Doc's Da Name
3. Whut Thee Album
4. Dare Iz A Darkside

The way he feels about Dare Iz a Darkside is really similar to how Eminem feels about Relapse, except Eminem was sober when he recorded Relapse.

@SunZoo can back me up on that.

It doesn’t matter when he’s been asked, whether it was 20 years ago, last year, or even two minutes ago: Reggie remains steadfast on hating that album. But everyone else loves it. :mjlol:

You have to admire that. :ehh:
