Nah Red is bugging.

The problem with his logic is, nobody told Cole to rap how he does. You can rap about literally anything, De La Soul never battled anyone nor did people expect them to. And they still put out classic music. There's tons of people in rap that did not put themselves in that lane, and nobody cared.

Cole put himself in that lane then backed out. That's what Redman seems to be missing. You can't claim maturity and "nah bro, this rap beef ain't for me" when the entirety of your career has been rapping about how you'll take out any MC and your pen is so crazy nobody should test you.

I will never fathom anyone shooting Cole any bail. It's nuts to me. The sole reason people moved on from clowning him is Drake did an even bigger b*tch move and sued.

I hope someday we find out exactly why Cole backed out and not that half assed "Port Antonio" nonsense. Was your life threatened? Gimme something to work with here.

Straight lies. That’s like 5% of his catalog lol. FHD, Born Sinner and KOD have personal themes.

He should have NEVER released 7 Minute Drill. NEVER
The reaction was a mixture of pearl clutching from Dot Stan’s about TPAB commentary and Drake Stans being disappointed Cole sent a warning shot and didn’t Ether Dot for Drake.

I don't mean literally every song. I mean he's been rapping "I'm the baddest MC" bars for the entirety of his career.

And it's way more than 5% but even 5% is too much. For what Redman's saying to make sense, it should be 0% of his catalog.

Not Good Kid. He been on him since Control and Drake’s whiny ass reaction to it. Then Kendrick subtly exposed Drake for using Ghostwriter on To Pimp A Butterfly a few months before Meek Mill went kamikaze and aired it all out.

If you listen to all the diss tracks, Kendrick clearly lays out all of his issues with Drake and why he loathes him. Drake is a fake artist with no true respect for the genre, he didn’t respect Drake’s bytch-like reaction to Control, he feels Drake is a liar, he feels Drake disrespects black women, he feels Drake is a coward, he feels Drake is an appropriator, he feels Drake is a snake, he feels Drake is a sexual deviant borderline pedophile, he didn’t like Drake putting money in the streets to get slanderous information about him (this last part seems to be the “last straw, gloves are truly off” moment)

I wish he started with that and didn't drop his initial reply (which sucked)
His song being so generic and trash was what reeeally made it awkward. I think many of us expected a lot more from j cole lyrically in that response. Him apologizing and bailing out may have been better received if he dropped a certified bomb beforehand. Either way I respect his choice. Tough guy shyt for the sake of tough guy shyt is stupid as hell. Look at the Dame dash breakfast club interview as an example.

That buried SportsNation interview getting back to Dot was the breaking point.

I don’t buy that. Battles always get personal and disrespectful. That’s just the nature of the sport. That’s no excuse though. If Cole is a hip hop head then he knows what stepping in the cage is all about. If he wasn’t ready for that then he shouldn’t have responded. Though honestly if he didn’t respond I think he would’ve gotten clowned for that too cause of how competitive he’d been generally rapping at that point. Drake certainly would’ve gotten clowned for not firing back. Hip hop is a contact sport :yeshrug:

When you’ve been out rapping legends on songs and killing features you can talk yo shyt. 7 Min Drill was a fine warning shot cause it basically stated their position in the game. But people were acting like Cole betrayed Dot and was siding with Drake.
