This was just a good, honest 2 hours of mid-week entertainment.
FD card is starting to look good but also not very FD. Since it's the only AEW show I'll get to go to this year I'm not that bothered - tbh, I probably get to see the top end of the NJPW talent more often than I do AEW so I'm good with an AEW heavy card, but it is a bit weird. Why not just give us All Out and wait for the G1 to finish for FD somewhere else?!
Mox and Speedball was entertaining. Darby on his serial killer, Slim Shady ass shyt is great. Textbook Yutanapping. Darby/Mox at FD. OKAY THEN.
Women's match was fun, but the chemistry wasn't quite clicking at times. Skye doesn't feel quite up to full speed yet, hope she can raise herself up and hang quickly because she's beloved by the crowd.
Generally the women's division is brilliant right now, they could do with giving it an extra segment or two in the weekly show.
I love Alex Windsor but that WINSAAAA shyt gotta go. Glad she won. 4 way at FD means Mercedes doesn't have to be pinned if, for example, she was taken out of the game by Safire Reed and the Cut Throat Collective
Interesting that MVP was already teasing Max's first feud if he beats Hangman. He's obviously got to do the Lashley angle eventually, but I don't think Hangman drops here. I'm thinking maybe Max goads Hangman to agree to a title match at FD without using his contract. Hangman retains. Bobby somehow gets MJF into a match for the contract leaving Max vanquished and the HS bearing down on Hangman?
Also Max can play heel to a live crowd like it's a mid-90s house show at times and IDGAF it's fun. Don't know many times he rolled away from the elbow but he had me popping for it eventually.
Briscoe needs a moment at some point. Doesn't need a reign, it can be a Here, Damn transitional thing, but at the very least he needs to win an AEW belt at a big event like Dustin at All In. He's really the MVP of a lot of their TV shows.
