I do like that idea that if you neg someone, it costs you a small bit of your rep. Adds more meaning to the neg imo

i third this. it makes negs more of a personal attack and would stop people from negging the same person day after day

Just make reps a function of rep-wars. If people want to play rep-wars, they have to become members and pay. Then, they can rep or neg other members. That's really the only function rep served anyway now that we have dap.

Rep just increases trolling because people get off on the red bars

It also prevents some people from making posts that they fear might get them negged, even if they have a valid point

It adds nothing positive to the forums, because everyone has full green anyway so who cares. And people dont use the feature enough anyway due to daps (which are better)

Mods are suppose to be impartial. I wasn't snitching dude was trolling a clothing thread. Folks were in there really tryna help each other out . Reporting a post isn't snitching either not like he was threatening me. Its just like being in a higher learning thread and someone just start posting pics of lil b or katt stacks.
