6 minutes in Reggie said he didn't mean to blindside Norm about leaving Gangster Chronicles but Norm had a new number and he didn't find out until his wife told him. He said he tried to call James too but James never answers his phone but he knows where James' head is at, so there's no issue with him leaving the show. His intentions wasn't to distance himself from Norm or James.

He said the main reason he left is he felt it was getting too crowded, added on they have a major deal in the works and since he's not getting out until his originally scheduled time, it was holding them up from making moves. So now that he's out the picture, they don't have to wait to do whatever business they have on the table.

He wants his potential show with Alex to be on Digital Soapbox, so obviously Norm would be involved.

Alex issues are with Norm. He said their first problem came during an episode when Reggie called in, there were technical difficulties. He asked Norm to edit it out in post production and he didn't. Alex called up Norm about it, and he said Norm went on a rant about how it's his show not Alex's. Alex said he threatened to quit then. He also hates the logo that Norm came up with but didn't run it by the staff. Final straw was the Covid crisis caused them to have to do shows on Zoom, which Alex is against. Alex said let James hold it down until they can get back to the studio, but when they finally started doing shows from the studio again, Norm never called him. That was it. He said he never had an issue with Alex or James, only Norm.

Alex says he's not sure he's willing to do a show with Norm involved and thinks him and Reggie can do their own show together without Norm's help.

That makes a lot more sense than Alex just ducking calls for months and then being surprised when they moved on without him.

I 100% believe Alex about the editing story. Since he’s gone, the quality control has been shyt and I’m sure I said this earlier in the thread somewhere. One of the recent episodes was uploaded completely unedited and it was terrible. I can’t find it anymore so they must have re-uploaded an edited version.

Cavario isn't part of the show. It's MC Eiht, Steele and James.

Cavario lives in Atlanta, not LA. I don't think he could do the show every week, even if he wanted to.

lol I don’t think Cavario was going to work. I can tell James wasn’t feeling his communication style. There was clearly intention on him being a host.

Alex can articulate himself, but he’s still relatable, as he’s a westcoast guy. I can tell he just couldn’t relate to how Cavario articulated himself.

Its best that they keep it west coast anyway. I personally think they should have secured Spider Loc a long time ago, but I’ll give the new episode a listen.

If I’m Alex & Reggie, I make Spider Loc the 3rd man on their podcast.

As far as TGC, I think Norm is okay, but I don’t think the listeners fukk with him. I also think he was a terrible voice for radio. I know he never intended to be a host but he probably figures it’s for the best right now.

I don’t think Alex & Norm would work. Based on Alex’s explanation, he needs his own shyt.

Agreed. Some people just don't mesh business/personality wise. I also agree with you on Norman's voice, I don't like it for the podcast. It's kinda grating. I used to think he was doing it until he discovered a suitable third chair, but I'm starting to feel like he enjoys the recognition of hearing his voice every week and might Diddy the whole thing.

I think it’s a bit of both.

He’s positioned himself to be the star of the show while he’s on it.

Im listening to the SCC interview. The problem is that James can not contribute to music conversations at all. He doesn’t know anything about the music business, nor was he ever involved with the business. He can not provide much of anything on these episodes.

That's exactly what it is. James is pretty lost on any music related topic and that's basically been the theme of almost every episode since June? May? When it comes to music all James can contribute is when Death Row beat up an executive/artist.

Lack of awareness on Norm’s part. If Alex and James were interviewing SSC, it would be a street interview with elements of the music business.

Hell James needs Alex the most. Reggie can talk about the street shyt and music industry. I liked when Spider was the occasional guest, because he can talk about the music business, which were areas Alex & James couldn’t contribute to. That was my only issue with the original GC’s cast, despite it still being a great show. I feel if Spider Loc was on as the 4th man, it would have been the GOAT show.

WOAT voice, Norm or 3 Letterman?

Norm but that may be just because I've gotten use to Dre's voice over the years and I'm just now getting accustomed to Norm's.

I agree. I like James but I don’t think he has much more to say that’s of interest outside of his history with Death Row and MOB. Some stuff I would rather not hear his opinion at all because it makes me look at him in a not so good light, but I gotta remember that he’s probably still evolving himself into a better person.

Norm is almost the opposite of James. He can only speak on music industry stuff and his experience is somewhat limited to being a rapper in the 00’s and working for a publishing company. He wasn’t around in the 90’s and he was never a part of an infamous label. He repeats what he says about that stuff because he does have a lot to work with.
