Yep, not to mention the chemistry of Reggie & James, friends of 40 plus years. I’m sure Norm heard them 2 on vlad, bombfirst, etc and was like this is money. I can’t dismiss Alex’s contributions either, but we know the show was built off the chemistry of Reggie & James.

You got a new team with a new situation. Why not start from the beginning right? Start with the death row shyt, and slowly branch out like they did initially.

However, as you stated, without Reggie it’s not the same. Reggie knew the music business, street business, etc. He was the most knowledgeable, and in my opinion, the most entertaining.

reggie and John are doing an official Bomb1st podcast when Reggie gets out along with whatever Reggie and Alex do as well. I always felt like reg shoulda done that even if he was still gonna do gangster chronicles cause Bomb1st was based primarily around DR and Pac and they had some tight ass interviews. I haven’t listened to gangster chronicles in a min.

John is a cool ass white boy but too cool for a podcast. He's a pushover and not entertaining one bit on the mic. I know he is the person doing all the engineering but it will just be Reggie talking 95% of the time like on Bomb 1st.

The real magic was Reggie, Mob, and Alex. Arguably one of the best pods ever IMO

The thing that got this podcast poppin was Death Row stories and 2Pac stories. No matter how many times we’ve heard it, people will forever be obsessed with that timeframe. The story has been beaten to death but the reality is, it’s their bread and butter. I do think they should tap into more Death Row stories outside of Pac but the issue is, they need Reggie for that. James was the muscle when Row started but his brother took over around 1995, and James kinda wasn’t coming around much by then. So a lot of the controversial Death Row shyt from 1996-2000 Mob James wasn’t around for but Reggie was there for all of it. So it’s gonna be interesting what else they can talk about besides current event topics.

Eiht was a good addition, but Eiht by his own admission stated he never really got into many altercations in his career on the road, so not sure how many stories we’ll get from him outside of his Quik issues.

How much of that can they do?

I agree.

I’m willing to bet that podcast will consist of what they’ve been doing, which is the usual YouTube show, and John posting it as an episode on their podcast. I hope I’m wrong and they put some real effort into though.

I don’t disagree. John interviewed j prince when they had him on and I thought he did a poor job, but the key is really Reggie because of his history and his ties. But I agree with you on TGC being an outstanding podcast. Shame they couldn’t keep it together,

nah I think they’re gonna tighten it up now that they see there’s real money in it.

They should start from scratch then imo, if that is actually the case. John has 4 YouTube episodes up on their podcast, which are available right now on Spotify.

At first I thought they should start over too but they already have alotta good content, which is valuable now that podcasts are signing deals. They have alotta good old interviews. Reggie just told John last week to start editing and uploading the old content. He even said to reach out to their listeners who may be able to help.

yeah but the audio quality isn’t great, as these are phone interviews. Believe me I get it, but all of that stuff matters imo.
