because mods on here can't even ban and have to put in requests to get rid of trolls.
if they had open registration this place would be rampant with WS trolls, it already has quite a few. i believe they shut it around the 2016 election because it was getting really bad. they've opened it from time to time since then, i think people can also ask/request someone they vouch for getting an account here.
