I'm not even embarrassed I watch a block of this when I catch it on Cartoon Network.
It's one of those shows that adults appreciate more than kids.
I will say that I'm not that much into Adventure Time anymore either

It's not surprising that shows like these are a big hit with adults given how alot of the subject matter is interwoven with adult themes, mainly that of love, dating and women that kids aren't readily focusing on outside of the characters antics.
Another hit show such as The Misadventures of Flapjack pretty much substituted Alcohol for Candy as evidenced by Captain K'nuckles penchant for always chasing the shyt and going mad/sick when he doesn't get it.
Wizards pissing in bushes, that crotch song they sang when synchronising the watches, Rigby's accusation that Mordecai only wanted to do extra work so he could get "Lady Pecs"....cleverly interwoven adult themes similar to Dexter's Laboratory and Anamaniacs that had you
when you got that shyt as an adult later. That said Mordecai and Rigby make for an awesome duo and it's hard to hate damn near anyone on that show. shyt runs in the same circles as Aqua Teen and Squidbillies for me in terms of adult cartoon comedy despite not being marketed as such and rightfully so. Heck, it's been more consistent than both shows so far as well.
First time I saw my nephews watching this, I was like 'is this meant for kids'
