I said this in the other thread but to keep it 100, Greek God's like Zeus are more popular today than modern Gods like Jesus and Allah.

Every 4 years people from all over the world gather round and participate in games dedicated to the Gods. When was the last time the whole world stopped for Islam or Christianity?

I've always wondered why the Christians of today follow a text that was written and arranged by other humans thousands of years ago. I'm going to be as blunt as possible. I don't think there is anything wrong with HAVING FAITH. Believe what you want. Rich people aren't making business decisions based on what "The lord told them to do". They do it based off of real world, tangible mathematics and logic. Poor people think that focusing on religion is the best way to better their situation. Yes there are drug dealers who do that for money as well. I'm not talking about them. Obviously if you're doing illegal activities you could care less about God. Religion is a way to make law abiding people complacent where they are. I just wanted to let you know my stance. If you disagree with that then that's ok. I just want to clarify what it is that you're disagreeing with.

Ok, I definitely see what you're saying, but I think your statement has more to do with generally ignorant/stupid people than it does religion. If I'm an investment banker and I've studied an organization's Statement of Cash Flow and clearly see this organization is in a bad position but decide to invest $500,000 into this company anyway because "God told me so," then that makes me stupid and ignorant moreso than it does "religious." I think a lot of times people try to use the word "religious" as an excuse for their shytty decisions...And as you pointed out, this DOES happens a lot in the poorer communities.

However, I think there is a deeper issue at play here which is lack of accountability, poor decision making skills and the dumb leading dumb. The word "religious" is just used as a scapegoat. Good post tho.
