catching the holy ghost.
No disrespect, I grew up in the church all the way up until I left home. But something always made me curious. I would see people go up to the alter, the pastor would say whatever it was he had to say, he would place his hand on the person's head, then the person would fall down to the ground and act like they was knocked out for however long. I went up there once and the pastor tried that on me and I just stood there and the pastor mushed me in my head again and I still just stood there. Dude looked at me like
. I didn't understand. Was I supposed to play a part or was it just supposed to happen?
Of course other times, we've all seen people catching the holy ghost and running laps around the church while screaming.
Then theres talking in tongues....do people know what they're saying or are people just making noises.
I've always chalked this stuff up to be people attention whoring in the church after a certain age. I could be wrong, but thats why i'm here asking now because i honestly dont know.
