So, the last 30 years of Hip-Hop/Reggae/Dancehall with it's aversions to homosexuality has been "lame nerd rage"?

By modern standards.

Biggie, Ice Cube, 2pac, Dr. Dre, Eminem, DMX, and pretty much all "homophobes".

Like I said before, you can hang with the "It Gets Better" crew if you want to, but the streets have NEVER accepted homosexuality from dudes and probably wont anytime soon.

This is a Hip-Hop based website.

Hip-Hop is from the streets.

That's just the way it is. Religion has nothing to do with it.

You want "tolerance", a Hip-Hop board is the wrong place to look.

White people care about "tolerance". nikkaz got too many problems to care about, than to be worried about seeming "open minded" and shyt.
Hey man, hip hop is for everyone. Even the gays. Wasn't Gangstarr gay? Isn't he a legend?

This dude just dropped a mixtape with Busta Rhymes. :yeshrug:

And yes, the homophobia in hip hop is pretty awkward to listen to in 2013. Like, Where the Hood At is really... strange to listen to in a modern social context.

So you just agree with everything everybody in the world does then, huh?

I'm not homophobic, but the bullshyt logic that says to disagree with something, you have to be inadequate yourself is bullshyt.

LMAO @ cats on a Rap forum being "religious" or complaining about "homophobia".

The streets is homophobic nikka. That's life.

Real street cats don't tolerate that shyt.

It has NOTHING to do with religion, unless you consider most of the gangbangers and drug dealers in my hood as "religious".

Please, everybody aint gotta get on board with that White folks "tolerance" bullshyt.

You don't like it, go to them White forums with the P.C. bullshyt.

And I aint even a homophobe.

I'm just tired of nikkaz trying to force everybody to accept their lifestyle.

Get over it.

There is no person named "Gangstarr", There's GURU and DJ Premiere from Gangstarr. It's "alleged" that GURU was gay, but that has not been proven as he never said he was.

I agree that Hip-Hop CAN be for everyone, but Hip-Hop is not politically correct. The hood do not have to change the way we talk just so you can feel "comfortable". We don't give a fukk about how you feel about it.

Now, it's just like White folks. We use crakkkas and and all that other shyt. A few of you lames are saying, "Stop it guys, that's racist" as if we give a fukk about offending people.

We do not.

If you can't handle "offensive" language, then Hip-Hop is the wrong culture for you as it is about being REAL and not holding back.

YOU'RE PROVING MY POINT, BROTHER!

No, I'm not.

You're comparing 500 years of slavery, racism of entire races of people with people having a problem with people's lifestyle.

Do you honestly think that all those rich White gay folks have had lives as hard as ours in the hood?

Are you out of your fukking mind?

Don't ever compare that bullshyt to growing up with police brutality, racism, slavery and everything else we've had to deal with.

Like I said, people have a right to not like a lifestyle. That's what being gay is. It's a preference. If you like to suck dikk or eat clit, whatever, that's your shyt, but it's not the same thing as being more likely to be born into poverty, which is what racism is.

Right?

If you're Black and homophobic then you deserve all the prejudice you get. That's Karma.

Yes, 500 years of Africa being destroyed, being slaves in Amerikkka, and being pushed into ghettos, being brutalized by police, having bad schools is the SAME thing as preferring to eat dikk and being judged for it.

Same shyt.

All discrimination is EXACTLY the same.

I ABSOLUTELY DID NOT MAKE THAT COMPARISON, BROTHER! I SAID THAT EVERYBODY LIKES TO KEEP A GROUP THEY CAN LOOK DOWN ON TO DISTRACT THEMSELVES FROM THEIR OWN PROBLEMS, DUDE! AND YOU PROVED MY POINT WHEN YOU SAID:

nikkaz got too many problems to care about, than to be worried about seeming "open minded" and shyt.
AS YOU'VE MENTIONED, BLACK PEOPLE ARE DISENFRANCHISED IN AMERICA, MEAN GENE! SO WHO DO YOU HAVE TO LOOK DOWN ON AND SAY "AT LEAST I'M NOT ONE OF THEM", BROTHER? YOU'RE ADMITTING YOU KEEP HOMOSEXUALS IN THAT CATEGORY, DUDE!

That's what being gay is. It's a preference.

SO COULD YOU PREFER TO BE GAY IF YOU WANTED TO, BROTHER?

you sound dumb as hell. :why: instead of talking shyt, please educate yourself. there's nothing worse than an ignorant person trying to act like he's kicking knowledge.

if you were as SMART as you think you are, you would realize that gay people come in all colors and walks of life. i say this as a black gay man. not only are you ignorant, you're racist towards whites and black people as well. :laff: black people have too many problems to be "open minded" and "tolerant". are you serious? :smh: that's the same reason why folks are finding themselves in a hole to begin with. if you were open minded, you would actually read a book about gay people and black history before your ass even tries to speak. you basically sucking off and praising criminals are if they're heroes calling them "respectable" through the word "real". then you're talking about victimization under the same breath while supporting victimizers. you really don't know what the fukk you're talking about. if you knew any better, you would realize that hip hop has gone down the tubes because you have folks that are basically using and abusing the art form for all the wrong reasons and trying to say that they're contributing something. sure, folks have used it as a platform to say address issues or to speak their minds on the way of the world BUT that doesn't mean what they're saying is right. for example, we have rappers talking about gun violence, death, killing and etc in their rhymes. sure, it's entertaining, enlightening to how some people live, what some people living in certain neighborhoods across the country and the world have to put up with and etc. it's all a matter of perspective BUT on the same face, it doesn't give someone the right to go outthere and follow what they're saying. if project pat said "shoot so and so in the face", he's not telling you to do that shyt. if you decide to do something like that to somebody, that's YOUR action. you can't blame project pat, bone thugs, mobb deep or whoever for YOUR actions saying that the song made you do it. you just can't. just because someone says something doesn't mean that it's COOL or okay, breh. ice cube said some racist shyt back in the day. it doesn't make it okay. rappers say hateful shyt towards women, that doesn't make it okay. same thing applies with hate speech towards gay people. it doesn't make it okay because some rappers or people out in the world are doing it.

funny how you want to talk about the prejudice that black people face. once upon a time, it was completely acceptable in america for black people to be hated against. there were lynchings that happened and folks didn't give a fukk. it was a damn pasttime even where they would snatch up a black person and hang them for entertainment. there were people that thought it was "normal" to kill a black person and dehumanize them. does that mean it was right though? OF COURSE NOT. to see that you have the same type of mentality that those people had back in the day towards gay people is quite frightening. proof that just because you are part of a historically disadvantage group in society doesn't make you exempt from being ignorant. ignorant is ignorant. don't use your skin color as an excuse. just because people in the past have been victimized because of their skin color doesn't give you or anybody who is black to victimize other people for who they are whether it's their skin color, gender, sex, sexual orientation and etc.
