Yeah, It's time for sports games in general to do this. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM. granted it was usually a clip of missed/made field goal as time expired. And not more than a few seconds long....But that was damn near 20+ Years ago. There is no reason for this not to have been occuring in every game since, BUT ESPECIALLY last gen, and DEFINITELY this gen.

Remember NFL 2K5(HORRIBLE GAMEPLAY IMO) but gotdamn it did so much shyt right it didn't matter

This was 11 YEARS AGO!!

@ 2.33 :mindblown: I mean gotdamn we can't do that NOW. that should have been standard for every game since

@ 3.06 :whoo:

Actually that whole clip is fire, them two moments are just my point.

You mean to tell me, NBA 2K15 can't go to break from the game you are currently playing to show the dunk of the night from the Clippers vs Mavs game. Or Someone hitting a game winner? we aren't that advanced yet?

You mean to tell me . Madden 16 can't go to break from the game you are currently playing, to show Cam Newton running in the game winning touchdown?

And even then all of the would fail in comparison to that 2k5 clip.

What's the problem???

On Xbox, when a REAL GAME is on NFL. I'll get a notification with a clip of the play in real time while I'm watching another game. Xbox got you covered like that, next time you should put "outside of xbox" in your thread title

These cat's bugging I'm like Did yall play the same game I did, she was turrible game play wise.
I couldn't play Madden for years after 2k5. And still can't. Gameplay wise 2k5 was better and far more realistic than Madden 05-10.

motherfukking 2k had not only quarter clips.... but full halftime updates on the current game and other games...

THEN just to crush the comp... these motherfukkers had A WEEKLY SPORTSCENTER SHOW, that highlighted the best plays of all the games in the week :wow:

I hear you about that in a game, what I said I don't think you fully understand tho. See, the NFL shyt I said is in conjunction with the NFL and NFL Network. All their shows are on that app, and when a game is on live TV, you get real time updates via the NFL Network crew bruh :whoo:
You into fantasy football? Whoever you have on your squad, when they pick up points?
The clip is instantly sent to you to watch while you watching your game. Every score, basically redzone but without the need to change the channel. This is real life. In game, you on your own :manny:

Madden was doing this shyt first, and I'd even go as far to say as they did it BEST.
I appreciate what 2K was trying to do, I pretty much told them to do it :yeshrug: (Tru Story)
But they put TOO MUCH focus on that shyt eventually, and thats when the game went downhill.
In the old Genesis days of Madden, if you was playing a season? They would do in game highlights
No Chris Berman. They'd have Pat Summerall speaking the highlights while you'd see plays in little boxes
And for some reason, it just felt authentic. I have fonder memories of that than I do 2K's
Eventually in 2K you just skipped past all that bullshyt. Maybe some of you was real young and had nothing better to do than to look at fake halftime shows? Its cool as long as its quick. The video that was posted, man, ain't nobody got time for that

In real life, but in a videogame? Life is short homey, you dudes will realize it one day.
It would be best to never play another game again and live life. But if you gonna game, then do it in moderation

Once you at the point that the gameplay is secondary, and the lil bullshyt additions is IMPORTANT?
Then yeah, you gotta re-evaluate priorities in life my nig. Its nice but not necessary. I don't think any REAL football fan is losing sleep over this stuff. Football is about competition. If you don't like competition in football? Then you don't like football. You a fan of Michael Sam, not football. Lets ask questions like "Hey man, how come we don't have smooth 11 on 11 gameplay bruh? You can make Battlefield with 64players and a bunch of destruction, bullets, rockets, tanks/etc. working damn near flawlessly but you can't do something with Madden?

Then this will turn to 2K and we'll all go "yeah, lets get em" and we'll storm the front doors of 2K inc.
Right now none of that is gonna happen cuz you too busy asking for Barry Melrose suits to make it into the game :shaq2:

2k5 was horrible gamelplay wise

madden 03/04/05>>>
Most gamers have revisionist history on how all that went down.
The fans of 2K forget that Madden had anything going for it, probably because they didn't play it
Madden would add a new feature each year that was and still is crucial to football games today
Momentum was introduced and perfected during that span, 2K didn't have that.
Then 2K tried to add that, and plenty felt the added momentum made the running game better overall
Madden then overhauls its passing and defense. 2K tries to counter and their passing game imo became damn near broken.

But I think I'm starting to understand the appeal. The gamers who don't like to play against real people liked how the game pretty much catered to them. Gave them a universe for them to get lost into. I'd rather play real people so all that fukkboy shyt didn't matter. From a pure gameplay perspective Madden killed 2K5. 2K peaked at 2k3. 2k1 was epic across the board tho. I'm talking NBA/NFL/NHL 2k1 :blessed: (well, they didn't release a NHL2k1)

:what: nikka, you spend all your free time stanning XB1 on a hip-hop forum. Whose priorities are really out of wack here?

Anyway, I agree, OP. We have been recessing in terms of presentation. People will argue it's done in order to improve gameplay, but honestly, can we think of any major innovations in the past couple of gens? Look, I'm not saying the storyline in 2k's MyCareer mode isn't a nice thought (TBH, no one wanted that shyt), but I agree that at least adding the option for features mentioned in this thread would only improve the immersion in career or franchise modes.

I remember in College Hoops 2k8, they had weekly shows, showcasing highlights of the week, awards, and major recruit commitments throughout the year. I skipped most of those, but towards the end of the regular season they had a Selection Sunday show. If you weren't a school that won it's conference, if you were a bubble team, it was interesting watching that bit, wondering if you made it, hoping that you made it in the tourney. Its a small touch, but it adds to making the experience feel real.
