I remember ppl literally were dl'ing songs in their queue like 24hrs a day.

the songs you wanted the most always had the lowest percentage completed.

@Matt504 mIRC used to have some good shyt on it back in the day. I knew how to use it on a very basic level though. All those commands and shyt like that was confusing.

i was deep into the botlegging of music shyt on irc, which his how i got put onto the audiogalaxey private spots. a homie of mine was in rns, one of the ripping crews on irc back in the day. i apologize for gettin nikkas albums pushed back due to leaks flooding the streets via cdrs getting slang like hand to hand crack sales

that was my shyt back in the day...set 10 songs to download overnight.
wake up 8 hours later and 2 of them are done, 3 failed and 5 are still working.

listen to those 2 songs until the other 5 are done and feel like a boss.

I know about RNS Can't be about the scene and not know. Albums two weeks before the release date all the time. I'm more of a RAGEMP3 fan myself due to the content they would rip.

You literally couldn't really download mp3s regularly until like 1998 to be honest. 56K modems made it reasonable. shyt it honestly was a fukking game changer. But I remember it taking a 20 minutes or so just to download ONE song. With 28k 14K and 33 K modems modems you would be downloading programs all day. If someone called you, the internet would go off or you'd get busy signals. We literally had to get a separate phone line just for the internet.

You gotta remember too, MP3s weren't out early in the game, I'm talking like 95. There were wav files and real audio.

That's the thing that made AOL so great tho. It was a closed circuit and you didn't have to really access the world wide web. You could just access their forums and chatrooms and things moved a lot faster than being on the world wide web. That's why so many companies had keyword aol sites in addition to their regular web pages.

I remember AOL used to charge 21.95 for unlimited internet but would charge an hourly rate otherwise......Of course in 94-95 who the fukk needs unlimited so we went with the hourly rate. I got on punishment and my punishment meant I could do nothing, no genesis/super nintendo/ps/tv, no outside.....but I could use the computer (because the internet wasn't known to be what it is today) so I started going on the net regularly. Like every day, ran up about a 150 dollar bill....Mom dukes was pissed.
