Threadstarter failed something serious.
Glad he made it though, cause I didn't know Mellow Hype dropped a new album "Numbers" which I'ma check out now
It's not good or anything. Not even the Frank & Earl features are exciting songs. Hodgy's solo EP 'Untitled' was slightly better -- but they both pretty much drive the point home for me that Hodgy is just generic as fukk, & pushes out aimless projects...
Domo's project with Alchemist was actually kinda decent tho. I consider Domo pretty generic too, but I'd give him the advantage over Hodgy as far as potentially developing into decency. but as is, if it's not a semi-star-studded project with actual effort put in then I'll be back to not fukkin with it (for example: his bleh ass 'Under The Influence' tape from earlier this year).
Mike G might as well keep acting like he doesnt exist.
Earl still worth paying attention to, but he been kinda deflating his buzz with each appearance besides 'Chum' & 'Oldie'. Still got hope for the kid though, -- definitely would check for the debut.
Tyler -- we'll see when he drops WOLF. but I kinda get the feeling that the "hardcore/angry" act is over -- which was kinda his biggest appeal -- so now it's pretty much on him to turn up the Mainstream ambitions, or start fading away... I can totally imagine him doing either, but given that he actually acts barely interested in rapping anymore I'd hedge my bets towards the latter. Would probably be a slow fade tho, because he is actually talented & people do like him.
Frank -- he'll probably win a damn Grammy. boy is a Star, straight up. Can't really see him NOT becoming a even bigger from this point out. He followed thru the perfect setup of 'Watch The Throne' with his own classic debut. By the time Nas's recently re-found 'White Jesus' drops, & then Frank seals the deal with his next already-recorded Jay & Ye appearances then the general public will have gotten over the "bi" issue. He writes classic shyt -- probably be a legend before he's done.
As far as the TV show, I barely watched it -- the Drake skit was funny but besides that couldnt really care. seemed successful though, will probably keep going as long as they want. Maybe it'll end up eclipsing their "rapping" careers, who knows?
I'd fux with a Jasper & Taco album.
Prolly wont get around to caring about The Internet or the Super 3 until they do something undeniably amazing that people keep talking about until I feel like I'm getting left behind. Checked em at first, but they didnt seem that promising.
