I think that was the actual amount. They were 900 or 1200

I was hoping for that 1200 check lol. Those were some rough times

House that I bought in 2005 lost half it's value.
401(k) got chopped in half (but there wasn't much in it in the first place)

The friends I had were just out of out at that point and still working as year 1-3 analysts.

Analyst is a super broad term...do u know if they were investment banking analysts, sales/trading analysts, finance division analysts, research...or something else?

Reason i ask is cause basically...if they were in a "front office" division they prob made enough to hold them over til the next gig came along and (most likely but not guaranteed) wouldnt have had to turn to retail to survive the unemployed months..

like if they worked in HR, compliance, settlements etc possibly as a 1-3 yr analyst they may have not been making the big bucks yet..

I don't recall specifically. I'd have to ask.

I believe like 70% of them were IB analysts and maybe a few sales/trading.

All front office.
