Heard all of these songs in real time every Friday and wasn't frequenting hip hop sites or anything so I experienced them genuinely with no real outside influences. The music was good but none of them hit like that for me other than So Appalled. 
Somewhere around this time is also when they dropped Looking For Trouble with J. Cole and that was the hottest song out for me by far. I listened to Cole before that but that song put him on the map.

Loved this in real time. Wasn't even mad that some of those songs made the album. I was disappointed that a few of them weren't on the album. This was Kanye's best album rollout. It was one of the GOAT album rollouts. At the time, artists would leak songs one by one on their websites. Kanye completely flipped it though because we didn't know if the songs would be on the album and MBDTF had a different tracklist that was changing. The songs were events with cover art. That separated Kanye from what a lot of artists were doing.
