Vegas is Radiator Springs without tourism. I can imagine they threw an insane amount of money at this to bury it. The victims that were compensated probably can't even post about it on social media.
What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. Of course it got swept under the rug, for a variety of reasons and from people with multiple motivations. Besides, this 24 hour news cycle is callous.
