But in general shyt stays less in people's head than back in the day, I bet more young people know about Columbine than this attack, just because most stuff just last a couple of months in the zeitgeist these days.

To be fair the Orlando Pulse shooting had 49 people killed and you NEVER hear that mentioned.

I remember watching a video of people scattering and a white guy using a racial slur because he assumed the shooter was a foreigner. He couldn't help but be racist even while running for his life, meanwhile the shooter looked like him

This is an interesting question to think about.
I think the fact that Vegas is so dependent on tourism probably made it easier to justify downplaying the story.
I’ve mentioned this a few times because it’s wild to think that he killed 60 people and injured more than 400!!!
