People are defending Trinidad James right now the same way some people were defending Cash Out back in the fall (Oh he getting show money, his next single gonna pop, he got a top 40 single, etc., etc.).
Hell, some people say the same about Kirko Bangz to a certain extent too.
But hey, not everyone pans out in the music game. It's like because a person drops a mixtape every 4-5 months, he's not irrelevant. Or because he's doing shows, the mainstream public wants to hear more of him. They may just want that one hit and that's it. One hit wonders do still exist y'all.
