Yeah there giving out some free games now. They're old, but at least you get to keep them forever.
Hiding online behind a paywall is NOT ok, but given the alternative in the console arena, it's something you have to put up with to deal with games that end up being console exclusives. For the majority of multiplatform releases, I'm sticking with PC.

Out of that list only one maybe two should warrant a day one buy. The rest of them are forgettable titles that you wouldn't even glance at if they were not free.

On the Xbox, yes.
You have to pay to use the Netflix app, along with all of the other internet streaming apps.
That won't be the case on the PS4 though.
