Different times, different circumstances.

and yes you did have to dig. If you liked hip hop and all you had was a half hour block of videos on MTV or Video Music Box, you had to dig the rest of the time. When Soul Train wasn’t on, you were digging. Recording videos, dubbing tapes, borrowing cassettes. Oh you dug alright. You’re just tired of doing it since the tastes of the general public don’t align with yours anymore.
all u had to do was turn on the radio and the music was there, recording videos and dubbing tapes was for hardcore music fans

And i was apart of that so i dont wanna hear it

If Pain never used autotune, then Wayne probably never makes Lollipop. Pain used it, even though he can sing, then gives Wayne the co-sign to do it. Wayne makes Prostitute, people fukk with it, then he makes Lollipop.

I get what you saying, but like I said, that was Pain's shyt. Wayne didn't have to dikkride, but he did. People weren't tryna jock Roger Troutman's (RIP) style when he was using the talkbox.

I'm not gonna fault bruh for being (semi)original compared to nikkas out there chasing hits with cheat codes

I actually think Michael Jackson was the initial downfall of vocalist. It wasn't his lack of vocals (He is one of the best vocalist to ever walked this planet), but his style of music, when replicated by other artists over decades, gets watered down, leaving us to what he have today.

The new crop of r&b can sing

HER doesnt have great range but is great with what she can do.

Summer Walker has a smooth voice and her runs are amazing

Arie Lennox has good range , is a offspring of badu.

Queen naja has a great voice, probably the most range and voice diversity then all of the above.
