That cd was like 7.99 at the store and people was thinking they were getting $10

actually he was getting that at the time.. but it was $7.. and that was just in the contract

koch was doing shyt.. there was no itunes or internet sales... and cd's was still 14.99 in best buy and 17.99

the only thing koch was doing was pressing up cds and shipping them to the store... no advance money, no promo money, no street team, no nothing


everything came out of cam's pocket and he still had to wait to recoup to even get that $7 a record


from koch's point of view.. they take 50k to put out 200k cds (limited release which is why they never did big numbers).... then you get all your money back or you don't have to pay the artist.. then you get 5 plus dollars after that too... and you didn't do a fukking thing besides ship the cds





now what nore was saying, was no one was getting paid on the back end... that's cause they weren't recouping

dips was hot at the time and cam just went plat.. it made sense for him to use his own money and mixtapes to promo, since they was already buzzing and could move those units.. everyone else just followed and never could sell, the internet hit, and it was a wrap on expensive, hard copy cds

That 14$ or 20$ for a cd gotta be split like 5 ways. No musician is getting half of anything. No store is going to buy a bulk of Cam Cd's or anyone for 7$ per CD
