You have to look at the deal in context. With underpaying for Dirk, having Ellis at a modest rate, the bench being assembled with low cost pieces, they can afford to splurge on Parsons. And when the playoffs hits and he's a major contributor, we'll see.

He's the third option with similar numbers as he had last season. And we would've spent that money on Born Ready if Houston matched... We had to overspend to get him. And if Dirk didn't give us a discount he would be having some of Parsons' money anyway. So them way I look at it we overpaid for Parsons but got a deal on Dirk. So it evens out

His shot has been ass this season which really helps hardens MVP case. Rocket fans like to credit ariza for the defensive turnaround but I'm not sold on that. Parsons is definitely better than ariza IMO.

I didn't say he was a better defender. I said he's a better player. I disagree the rockets wouldn't be any better. They would be better offensively and I feel about the same defensively. The rockets have a great record comsiderng d12 has missed so much time, but it's too dependent on harden. Ariza isn't shooting anywhere near as well as he did last year
