Regardless of his sound or w.e.. but dude coulda said to himself "fukk Action Bronson" but no, he got him on a posse cut with himself and the biggest new artist from the west. He didnt have to do that. The label didnt tell him to.

i get what youre saying. Thing is, NY has no other new artist (outside Nicki) on his level in terms of fanbase and reach.

I just think NYs opinions on the whole "NY sound" shyt is ridiculous especially since you got people like J Cole from the south rappin and makin music like he's from NY. And west coast artist sounding like theyre from NY. Or Kendrick who used to rap and sound like Wayne. If someone is from NY and reps NY, i dont see the problem especially cause dude was rappin about the south makin the best music 6+ years ago. Hes still a NY artist, though. And leading the new NY generation until someone else takes his spot or he just fades away regardless of the kinda music he makes and his image.

Troy ave success is more about hard work, good relations and radio politics between Hot n Power. 97 is basically trying to prove a point to the city that they can blow up a artist indepedently. It's kinda a counter measure against Breakfastclubs big success.

Which is why if u from NY u tend to hear new NY artists on Hot 97 n almost never on Power. Any1 can attest that Aves joint with Banks gets played almost hourly outchea lol.

Kid also headlining Summer Jam. He doing his thang out here. Hot trying a new model which is overal benefitting new artists and the city overall. Shoutout to Karlie Hustle for that

Word rumor is he signed a deal last week or sumthing. I think Def Jam.

But his whole blowing up off that NY City album last year was purely a mix of his connections and relationships with bloggers and black twitter, his grind and his rapport with radio. shyt one of his original A&Rs is a SOHH/Coli poster. But I ain't trying to throw him out there. He prolly living cozy now that Ave is gettin a lil run lol
