and considering how much he gets paid, you have now figured out why in reality it's gonna be hard to move him. The problem is that outside of hardcore Lakers fans, everyone thinks that he's just in a funk or that if he went somewhere else, the clock gets turned backwards and he becomes what he used to be and he'd make some other team a contender (and even then it's contradictory-- he's gone from perennial all-star/NBA Champ to a guy that might NEED a 22 year old Spanish PG to hopefully get him to function again)

Great thing other fans ain't GM's. One of the biggest reasons why LA didn't trade him when they hired MDA was because Conangelo didn't want to trade Bargs and Kahn didn't want to move Pek, Love, or Rubio and they never came close to a deal for money reasons. You can't rape nobody if they aren't trying to be raped. Sund is gone from Atlanta so you can forget about Josh Smith. Morey only wanted Gasol with Nene so you can forget about Houston. Maybe, Okafor for Gasol or Amare for Gasol. That's about as good as it gets. No one is trading young assets for Gasol. The deadline on that was when you hired MDA and fired Mike Brown.

I was saying the same thing...not that I was totally in love with Mike Brown as a coach...but I was very vocal that it was gonna take more than a coaching change to fix the lakers, there are very real problems with the roster...namely, 19million dollars in salary tied into a pretty next to worthless Gasol...terrible value for that price, and has the entire roster unbalanced...the two center thing with him full time at the 4 was proved without a shadow of a doubt to be a failure imo after last seasdon...D'Antoni coming in only makes it worse...lakers have been pretty much screwed since the new cba and that trade for CP3 was rescinded (perfect, perfect move that would've rewrote league history... one of the greatest crimes in sports history far i'm concerned)...Pau's trade value is basically nothing now and the only hope for this current to be anything other than a disaster is if Dwight somehow returns to the top 3ish player he hasn't resembled at all this season so far...it's a great shame because kobe's having an all time great season for a guard his age and it'll all just go to waste and bizarrely get spinned like 30 5 5 on .600 TS% in his 17th year at the age of 34 was a detriment to the team by the twilight zone that is irrational kobe hate
