Game 4 Shaq fouled out. Kobe took over hitting all kinds of clutch shots. Kobe's defense was key in that series also .
This man knows his history.

Tbh if Kobe didn't go full Mamba in the 4th quarter/ OT. It's no telling how that series goes if got tied up.

I remmeber my pops wqs a reggie fan too :mjlol:

The funny thing is Kobe was gaurding reggie and completely locked him up... This was his coming out party in many ways
Nah Kobe's coming out party was his second season when he was on fire and got voted into all star game and than played shot for shot with MJ most of the game
I believe this was the 98 all star game.
After that everyone knew Kobe would be a superstar but I don't think he actually became one til prob 02. Even though ppl will say otherwise

Most likely Shaq would have killed the pacers like every other game. Kobestans love pretending like that was a close series by any stretch.

This thread deserves a sticky.

:wtf: that series was close. And if the Lakers lost game 4. It could have been trouble being that Kobe was pretty hobbled. Hell the Pacers damn near won by 30 in game 5.

It was not that close. The Lakers were healthy favorites and they sputtered at times, but Shaq dominated. The Pacers played as well as they could and they basically got snuffed when it came down to it. They had absolutely no answer for Shaq. Nobody did back then.

STOP IT... always trying to pull a slick one without context.

After suffering an ankle sprain in Game 2 of the 2000 NBA Finals against the Indiana Pacers, Kobe Bryant missed Game 3 of the championship series.

But the franchise’s future all-time leading scorer returned for a crucial Game 4—and after Shaquille O’Neal fouled out in overtime, Kobe took over, hitting numerous clutch shots en route to scoring 28 points, giving the Lakers a commanding 3-1 series lead.

kOBE WAS 21 YEARS OLD PLAYING ON A BUM ANKLE, thanks to jalen rose who later admitted he stepped under him on purpose trying to injure him. You must be very afraid of a 21 year old. in order to try to pull some slick nonsense like that on him.

GAME 1 OF THOSE same finals. kobe had 14 pts on .462fg. jalen rose played 36 mins and had 12 pts shooting .417 for the game. Reggie miller was 1-16 for 7 points. these are the guys that kobe would've guarded and would have guarded him. kobe was tearing the pacers a new one. Thats why Jalen rose intentionally tried to injure him(which he admitted to doing later on in life).

Game 2 is when jalen did it. it was 9 mins into the game and bam, down went kobe. so kobe was injured most of game 2. and was hobbled the entire series from that point on.

But we wont talk about that. because your agenda doesnt fit the reality.

like jalen said. he was trying to get that young 21 year old kobe out of the series. thats FEAR.

Reality?

Try this for reality - Shaq had 43 and 19 game 1. He had 40 and 24 when Kobe was injured in game 2. IN the same game, Derek Harper came in for kobe and had 20 points. Lakers won despite Kobe being out.

and what did kobe do when shaq fouled out?

you dont want to play this game.

and what you fail to realize is how badly jalen and reggie were shooting in game 1. its not always about hw many points you have. its also about you making your opponent expend energy guarding you while you also lock them up too. well reggie and jalen were guys kobe would have to guard being that they would play sg and sf. jalen sometimes would play pg like he did in college. but they were both 6'7+. so those were the guys kobe had to check. but once he sprained his ankle he couldnt guard anyone.

So posting stats from this series is STUPID and a REACH. nothing is proven except that a grown man tried to injure a kid because he was afraid of him.
