Showing your work is supposed to be an indicator of your thought process. But this is also why America is declining intellectually (not taking a shot at any posted personally just as a general statement of America as a collective).

Most engineering formulas are plug and chug but breh do you really want to drive on a bridge designed by someone who just entered numbers into a program with no understanding of concrete design or how loads are distributed?

I hear you. However in college i went up to higher levels of Calc and we had to show our work using the scientific calculator. So you still understand the logic

Some people find that better than having to hand write a full page of equations
