Remember when Undertaker called out Brock Lesnar at that MMA event?

Was I the only one that marked out the first time I saw this :gladbron: :krs:

Taker dressed as his American bad ass gimmick in 2010 :gladbron:

Taker being a regular dude calling out a professional fighter to a fight :mindblown:

Taker turning heel in the middle of the interview :pachaha:

"He needs to train a little harder" :troll:

A another match in the E between these two would be :wow: considering the real life beef they have :lupe:

I think there might be a little heat between those dudes but I also believe that was mostly a work, at least on Taker's part.

Because, you know, Taker legit challenging Brock in a shoot is just plain silly and he knows it. Taker said what he said as part of a plan to build up a potential WWE match with Brock (which never ended up happening, but there was a chance at the time that it could happen). I'm pretty sure Vince was in on it and in fact likely came up with the idea.

Why won't Brock grow the heel beard again? Makes him look like even more of a reckless badass

And rumor is that Undertaker said something about Sable which is the cause of the tension between the two of them, I forgot exactly were I read that info at though.

That didnt look like a work to me. Never say never, but I cant believe that Brock would agree to work an angle, minutes after getting his ass handed to him by Velasquez. Thats just not part of Lesnor's makeup, and in order for it to be a work both men have to be involved. If Lesner punches Taker in the face --- boom, no more "work". Also, they never followed up on this in a working capacity, even tho they had the chance. It was legit.

On another note, its a shame Taker's gimmick didnt allow for more media interviews during his career. Hes articulate, and handles himself very well. His demeanor and attitude commands respect for himself and The E.

Any pics of Taker lately? Is he even in shape? He's had a year :snoop:
Taker is like in his late 40s or early 50s, he gets a pass for being a little :flabbynsick:

And he supposedly was out of shape when he came back in 2000 as American bad ass, I didn't effect his in ring performance AFAIK.
It's not a total work. Apparently Vince sent Taker down there to instigate but Brock didn't go for it. It's probably behind them now because Brock would of been mentioned it on a interview at this point.
I would be shocked if Vince sent Taker to do this considering he was using the deadman gimmick at the time and Taker is clearly not in character here, this video must have had little kids like :dwillhuh: seeing Taker act like a regular person and not use his magic powers to turn off the lights in the arena, make himself magically appear in the ring and chokeslam Lesnar :pachaha:

It would have made more sense to send Triple H to do that IMO :manny:

Cripple H is not a tough guy at all. He would never get in Lesnar;s face. He might get struck or choked up real quick...depends on Lesnar's mood.

As I said, I think it was mostly a work at least on Taker's part. And if Vince and Taker planned it without Brock's knowledge, it's still a work. What I'm saying is, Taker definitely didn't legit want a piece of Brock Lesnar. That would be crazy. I'm not saying those two don't have a little heat, but Undertaker would get destroyed in a shoot fight with Lesnar and he's smart enough to know that.

As far as Brock goes, he could've known what was going down too, and it was up to him on how he was going to participate in it. If he'd beaten Cain, he might've done more, but it's conceivable that he chose not to participate much because he lost his fight and wasn't in the mood.

Having Taker out of character is exactly what makes it seem like a shoot. The best works seem like shoots, right?

Nobammerweed and Hoss covered things pretty well, and also...

There was an interview Brock did hyping what would've been his fight with Dos Santos in spring/summer 2011 where Ariel Helwani asked him about this. I don't remember exactly what he said, but he did mention that he heard from "mutual friends" of Taker talking shyt about him or someone he knew (probably Sable). Brock insisted it wasn't a work he was involved in. Taker had to be working though, otherwise was really calling him out for a fight right there with the entire UFC audience and cameras around, that seems ridiculous.

The idea that Brock was planning on doing some kind of work, then suffered an embarrassing defeat and didn't care about the work after the fight is plausible to me

Yep. I can speak to the fact that the Cain loss REALLY got Brock down. He truly did not think Cain could do what he did to him as easily as he did, he's a pretty moody cat especially if things don't go how he planned. Work or not the last thing he needed was a mic in his face for any reason at that moment.
